Terrorist groups like Libs of TikTok are claiming there is an epidemic of transgender people committing mass shootings across the United States without any evidence. Even the NRA is now defending transgender rights.
In this fascinating call segment, David from California provides a refreshingly honest and nuanced political conversation that covers some of today’s most contentious topics. A former Democrat turned Trump supporter, David grapples with complex feelings about his political evolution while demonstrating a willingness to engage in good-faith dialogue that’s rare in today’s polarized climate. The conversation begins with David’s surprising admission that he would vote for a different Republican in primaries due to Trump’s Epstein connections, leading to an agreement between him and the hosts about releasing the Epstein files.
The discussion then shifts to trans rights, where David initially expresses views about trans identity being a mental illness, but shows genuine openness to learning as Jimmy provides historical context about how medical classifications have evolved and why homosexuality was removed from mental health diagnoses. David’s admission of being “judgmental” while trying to remain polite to his trans neighbors in Southern California reveals the internal tension many Americans face on social issues.
The conversation takes an educational turn when they dive into immigration statistics, with Jimmy fact-checking David’s misconceptions about immigrant crime rates and explaining that most undocumented immigrants actually overstay visas rather than cross borders illegally. Throughout the call, David demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a capacity for growth that makes this segment both entertaining and genuinely instructive about political dialogue across ideological divides.
I love this subreddit. The trans reddits do have a special place in my heart, but these ones where everyone is just goofy and having a silly time ABOUT SUPER SERIOUS STUFF and then nothing at all, too. There’s such humour to be found in peoples’ trans experiences and what they used to tell themselves and how happy they are now. I’ve been told this subreddit is for younger people but there is no age limit on figuring yourself out. Please be kind to yourself the way you are kind to others — we’re all just doing what works for us until we figure things out.
And in case you missed me, you can catch me on the regular on twitch.๐
Do one thing for yourself today that makes you happy. Much love. ๐
In today’s world, especially in the USA (where I live), we are facing a great evil. This evil is trying to silence anyone LGBTQ+ (with a primary focus on transgender people as of the writing of this post, but they will be coming after the others soon enough).
